mySubs Privacy Policy

Your privacy is our highest priority. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand how the mySubs application handles your information.


1. Data Collection Policy

mySubs stores your subscription management data locally on your device.

mySubs operates as a completely local application that stores all user-entered information solely on the user's device. We fundamentally believe in privacy by design, which means your data remains yours and under your complete control at all times.


2. Information Storage

  • Local Storage Only: All information you enter into the mySubs application, including subscription details, payment information, and reminders, is stored exclusively on your device's local storage.
  • Support and Security Processing: If you use the optional request form, we process the submitted fields (for example subscription request text and optional contact details) plus technical security data to provide support and protect the service. We do not keep a dedicated long-term support database in the app backend. Data may be retained in operational systems and processor tools only as necessary for support, security, and legal obligations.
  • No Analytics or Tracking: The application does not include analytics, tracking tools, or any mechanisms to monitor user behavior or usage patterns.

Retention periods are based on necessity criteria and legal obligations; fixed deletion windows will be applied once automated retention controls are enabled.


3. User Data Control

As a user, you have complete control over your data:

  • Data Export: You may choose to export your subscription data in JSON format for backup purposes or to transfer it to another device. This action is triggered only by you and the resulting file is stored in your chosen location.
  • Data Deletion: You can delete your data at any time by either removing individual subscriptions within the app or by uninstalling the application completely from your device.
  • No Recovery: Since we do not store your data on our servers, we cannot recover your information if it is lost. We recommend using the export feature to create personal backups if you wish to preserve your data.

4. Device Permissions

The mySubs application may request the following permissions, all of which are optional and used only to enhance your local experience:

  • Calendar Access: If granted, this allows the app to create reminder events in your calendar for subscription renewal dates. No calendar data is extracted or transmitted elsewhere.
  • Notifications: To provide local reminder notifications about upcoming payments or renewal dates.

You can enable or disable these permissions at any time through your device settings.


5. Children's Privacy

The mySubs application does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app does not collect any user data at all, it is inherently compliant with children's privacy protection laws such as COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).


6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

7. Compliance with Apple Guidelines

This privacy policy complies with all Apple App Store requirements, including:

  • Clearly explaining what data remains local on device and what data may be transmitted when optional support features are used.
  • Describing how transmitted support and security data is used.
  • Confirming whether processor services are used for support delivery and anti-abuse controls.
  • Confirming that the developer will comply with applicable laws in any location where the app is made available.

8. Currency Exchange Data

To provide up-to-date currency exchange information, the mySubs app connects to our proprietary external API. This API fetches and provides exchange rate data that is updated on a daily basis.

In situations where your device does not have an active internet connection, the app will display the most recent exchange rate data that was successfully downloaded during the last connection. This ensures you always have access to the latest available information, even when offline.
